Ritual art – Time and Space
From Left to Right
Miryan Kolev
Miryan Kolev has created a musical composition which is composed and recorded during his stay in the Old School residency. In this composition are included motifs from an authentic folklore song from Gorna Lipnitsa performed by women from the village during the opening of the residency. These old motifs, which incorporate the spirit of the past, are combined with sounds from objects found in the school presenting the elements of now and here. The overall sound of the composition is supplemented by guitar fragments characterizing the stillness of time. The final result is a sound ritual which embodies timelessness and transitivity of ages.
